Tomb Raider will start it's 25th Anniversary Celebrations

 

Great news for all the Tomb Raider fans today!

Tomb Raider will officially start it's 25th Anniversary Celebration pretty soon!

The announcements come from the Official Tomb Raider socials. The developers posted a video in which part of the team (featuring Community Managers Meagan Marie and Neha Nair, Executive Producer Dallas Dickinson and Game Director Will Kerslake) introduces itself and summarize what they have in store for us during this special anniversary. Let's see what we know so far!

As said in the video by Community Manager Neha Nair, the celebration will feature a year-long community celebration, featuring fanarts and cosplay highlights, interviews, livestreams and some special things that we will discover during the year. Lara Croft has a huge impact in videogames and pop culture, and this celebration is all about coming together as a community and share memories about Tomb Raider and it's character Lara Croft as said by Executive Producer Dallas Dickinson

One of the most exciting part was introducing the future of the Tomb Raider saga. Will Kerslake, Game Director at Crystal Dynamics teases us a little bit about what's in store for us:

"We have big ambitions for the future of Tomb Raider. Our origin trilogy back in 2013 told the story of Lara Croft's early days where she was forged into a survivor, became a hero, and ultimately, the Tomb Raider. The classic games featured a seasoned and confidend adventurer, traveling the world, unlocking it's secrets, often standing alone against forces and cataclysmic consequence. We envision the future of Tomb Raider in all it's forms as unfolding in a time beyond these established adventures, telling stories that build upon the breadth of both Core Design's and Crystal Dynamics' games and working to unify these timelines. With Tomb Raider's extensive history, this is no easy task! We ask everyone to be patient as we go through the development process. We don't have plans for a major game announcement in the near future"

We also have an official date for the beginning of the 25th Celebrations: February 1st!
